Putting Specialty Print Processes to Work For You
Not all folders are created equal. The difference between a basic folder and one that truly supports your business often comes down to the finishing touches—the coatings, textures, and specialty print processes that elevate your materials.
At FolderWorks™, these finishing techniques are our “Sweet Spot.” We’ve mastered the art of creating folders that not only look professional but also last longer and leave a lasting impression.
Specialty Print Processes
Full Color Printing works well for colorful designs, photographs and projects that need many different colors. Color is applied in tiny dots that your eye blends together, which keeps costs down since you don't need separate printing plates.
Spot Color works best for logos and brand elements where getting the exact color right matters. It's also good for large areas of solid color. Each color in the design needs its own printing plate.
Foil Stamping adds shine and elegance by applying metallic or colored foil to specific parts of a design.
Embossing & Debossing creates raised (embossing) or indented (debossing) effects that add texture and an upscale look to logos, text, or images. You can combine it with foil stamping for an even more luxurious appearance.
Laminated Finishes feel good to touch, which gets customers more involved with your materials.
Gloss Lamination provides protection with a shiny, glass-like surface that makes colors pop and look more vibrant.
Soft Touch Lamination gives you protection with a matte look and a soft, velvet-like feel.
Die-Cutting lets you create custom shapes and unique designs that catch people's attention.
Protective Coatings For Custom Folders
Ultraviolet (UV) Coatings are thicker and more protective than varnish or water-based coatings, making your finished folders more durable.
Aqueous (AQ) Coatings use a clear, fast-drying, water-based sealant to create folders with a matte finish that protects against smearing and fingerprints. You can also get aqueous satin and gloss coatings if you ask.
Spot UV Coating (Spot Gloss) puts a glossy, clear layer on selected parts of a design for a raised look that creates contrast and visual interest.
Why Custom Print Folders Make a Difference
When someone picks up your folder, they're getting their first real impression of your business. A well-designed custom folder tells people you pay attention to details and take your work seriously. It also does practical things - keeps important documents organized, gives you space to reinforce your brand message, and creates something people actually want to keep rather than toss in the recycling bin. Whether you're presenting a proposal, welcoming new clients, or organizing materials for an event, the right folder becomes a working part of your business strategy, not just a place to store papers.
Custom Print Packaging
We also handle custom print packaging in short runs, so you don't have to order thousands of boxes to get what you need. We work with standard sizes and popular styles like pillow packs, roll tuck boxes, and straight tuck boxes. You'll get the same careful attention to detail whether you're launching a new product, putting together materials for a special event, or just need reliable packaging that represents your brand well.
